The Benefits Of A Woman Not Lying About Her Age.
Thursday, February 4th, 2010We ladies are sometimes known for fibbing about our ages a little. Most women I know were twenty-nine for three or four years. Even my ninety year old great aunt Meredith tells people that she’s seventy-five.
When I first learned there were so many older women seeking younger men
and opened myself to dating a younger man myself, I decided I would always be honest about how old I was. Well that decision has brought about quite an unexpected result. I’m now used to hearing “Really? Wow!” accompanied by an impressed look when I tell people, and especially younger men, how old I am.
And the more I’ve thought about it, it makes sense. After all, it’s one thing to be cute when your young. But still looking attractive into your later years is an indicator of strong genes. Which is, subconsciously at least, a turn-on to everyone. It’s come to the point where I’m now more than eager to be honest about my age. When I meet someone a cute younger guy, I even hope he asks.
If this phenomenon catches on, women may even start making themselves older when they lie about their ages, just so they can impress everyone with how great they look.
Charlie Chaplin once said “You’re only as young as the women you feel”. Mr. Chaplin, who was infamous for being with much younger women, clearly had no hangups about the fact that young women were a boost to his ego.
Well for a mature woman in need of an ego boost, dating a younger man could be just the thing. For one thing, while for men around our own age we’re competing with younger women, a woman who’s open to dating a younger man has more candidates to choose from then a prom queen.
Young guys find our life experience and knowledge sexy. And the old double standard, where a woman loses points for sexual experience is gone. Young guys LOVE our sexual confidence. Sexual experience is now an asset!
Centuries of tradition have dictated that men seek women who are younger in relationships, and women seek men who are older. Well this particular tradition needs to be seriously reevaluated.
In older times, gender roles were very clearly defined. Men were providers and women were homemakes and child bearer. Within this context, it made sense that for a woman to look for a man who had more life experience, and who was therefore more capable of being a protecter and provider. And it made sense for a man to seek a woman who would be able to bear children for many years ahead.
In modern times however, if a woman set in her career doesn’t need a man to support her, and a man isn’t looking for a woman to take care of, and if neither of them is interested in having kids, then an older women younger men relationship makes a lot of sense. This particular tradition may be a relic of a bygone era.
